moving

It was  so sad to leave all my amazing friends but I loved my stay at Ohaeawai  School. Thanks to all my great teachers and  Mrs Whitleaw for always being there for me. Even thought I stayed there for only one year it was an amazing one year.

My Progerss 2017

Here is my Progress I have made during the year. On my slide is Maths, Spelling, Basic facts, Reading and Writing. I think I have made much more progress through out the year on Writing and spelling.


 

bee bot

Yesterday  my class was sketching robots and I drew a robot. It was Bee bot.  I made a poem about  Bee bot. I hope you like it.

Garden to table

Garden to Table

Today we did garden to table. We were in the garden. What I learnt was, if you have a small seed you have to dig a small hole and if you have a big seed you have to dig a small hole.

Last week I was in the kitchen. My group made hummus and guacamole. It was so fun to cook. I felt like a chef. Also some other people made scones and there was vegetables for the  hummus and guacamole

SKITTLES

In our skittles writing we were learning to do show not tell.  

I need to do this to give my reader a good picture in their mind.

I think I am doing well in my writing because I have been writing good stories that are not real.

I need to work on my punctuation, I do not really know where to put full stops.

My learning

I have been learning more things every day. Today I had a conference with my teacher to discuss my learning. Here is my learning drawing about how much I have learnt. I hope you like it.

Collaborative bird wings

Our  class has been making collaborative bird wings. We all did a feather but I did two of them.
This is what we did:

1. Get some chalk and draw your patterns on the feather.
2. Go over the lines with a white crayon.
4. Get dye and brush the dye on. We used complimentary colours.
5. Let it dry and there you have your big bird wings.
I hope you liked my instructions, now you try it on your own.
I have some pictures of me standing by the the feathers. I hope you like it.

Measuring with a Ruler

For maths we have been learning about measurement. We had to chose something about measurement to teach. This is a little video with a picture with it to show how to rule a line, in measurement. I hope you like it.

Kites

My class have been learning about kites and flying. We made kites from flax sticks and plastic bags.

We took them outside to fly then we wrote a poem about it. Here is my kite poem. I hope you like it.

We have been learning to complete Science investigations. We learnt about the Scientific method.

Handwriting Term 2

Here is my handwriting from term two. I form my letters good and I am good at handwriting. I am good at making my letters tidy. My work is set out correctly. Some of my letters do not sit on the line so I need to work on this.

We have been learning about Fractions. They are equal parts of a shape or a number. Fractions are equal parts of a whole.

Paper Spinners

We made paper spinners for maths.We had to use our fraction and shape knowledge to help us fold our spinner. We decorated  our spinner with patterns and colours. We battled our spinners with a friend. My paper spinner came second.

Here is my recount from the Holidays...

The Movies      

“Here we are,” my grandpa said. In we went, we got an ice-cream. “Chocolate top my favourite.” Finally the movie was on, “I can’t wait,” my sister whispered. Everybody said, “shhh the Boss baby is on.” When it started it was very boring but in the middle it was very interesting but at the end  it was more interesting than the start or the middle but in the end it was…...extraordinary. “That was so amazing!” I said after  the movie was finished. My grandpa told us to get in the mini and grandpa drove us home. We saw our dogs and rode our ponies. That was the best movie ever!

In the Beginning

In the Beginning 

How it all started. At first Ranginui the sky father cloaked the mini gods. The gods were tired of being cramped. They wanted to separate them. "We shall kill our parents" Tu said. The god of wind did not want to kill his parents. Tane had an idea. He pushed with all his might and separated his parents.

My friend and I created a movie telling the story of the Legend In The Beginning.

Easter Bunny Art.

Last week we made Easter bunny art. We used marbling to create my background. Then I made patterns using a sharpie on our rabbits. We added some whiskers and glasses. Here is my Easter Bunny.

Triathlon

Triathlon.

“Everyone line up, we are going to the field and we are doing the Triathlon. I hope nobody has forgot “ said Mrs Craig. We arrived on the field. ’’I am so nervous,’’ I say to my friend Denym. ‘’I am not’’ yawned Denym. “Should we do some cartwheels?“ I ask Denym.“Sure‘’ says Denym. We had just finished when Mrs Gardiner shouted, “It’s time for Team Awa to do their triathlon. We all followed Mrs Gardiner.

Splash! The room two girls were doing there swim. ‘’Whoo’’ the  girls sprinted out of the gate and grabbed their helmets.

Finally it was my turn. On your marks, get set, go! We all roared to the end of the pool. We got out of the pool and got in again. I was finished. I got my helmet and bike and walked it to the gate. I had finished before I knew it.  I was running and finally crossed the finish line and finished. I did it! Mrs Whitelaw handed me a milk.

That was the best triathlon ever!

Maths Goals

Project Energise

Today we did Project Energise. It was very cool. Here's what we did. First we had to work  through a hula hoop and pass it around the circle.  We did it in 8 seconds. Next we did racing. We had to use 3 circle pads to get across a pretend river. We had to take two people across at a time. The boys beat us.
